Are you feeling worn out from holding everything together? Perhaps it feels like you’re carrying more than your fair share, with little space to pause or breathe.
Counselling offers a place to slow things down. A space away from the demands of everyday life, where you can gently take stock of how you’re feeling. When life moves at a pace, distraction and avoidance can feel like ways of coping, and sometimes they are, but they often only work for so long. Counselling creates time and space to sit with your experiences, helping you find ways to live more peacefully alongside them.
I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy for adults (18+) in a calm, supportive setting. My aim is to create a sanctuary where you can express yourself freely, begin to understand yourself more deeply, and gain clarity about what you need next. People come to see me for many different reasons. From navigating early adulthood and relationship difficulties, to managing work-related stress, mid-life identity questions, fertility issues, loss, bereavement, anxiety and depression. There is no upper age limit. Reflecting on your life as an older adult can offer ways to reconcile your past and take on new perspectives in later life.
Sessions are 50 minutes and usually take place weekly. You can choose to meet in person at my therapy room in Tewkesbury, or online from anywhere in the UK.
In the early sessions, we’ll spend time exploring what has brought you to therapy. As I get to know you, I will tailor the way I work to suit your needs and preferences. Most sessions involve talking and gentle exploration, with me offering reflections and observations to help you connect more fully with yourself. I often work creatively, so sessions may sometimes include the use of figurines, sand, clay, art materials or imagery. Where helpful, I may also introduce somatic (body-based) approaches to support awareness of physical sensations and emotional responses, particularly when working with anxiety or past trauma. Everything is always offered with care, choice and collaboration.
